Needs Groups

Life is complicated, even when things are going well, but especially when we hit road blocks and difficulties along the way. Recognizing our needs is the first step in navigating the highs and lows, along with all that is in between, as we navigate our life journey. Some of that navigation is best served when sharing the journey with others who are in similar experiences, recognizing we are not alone.

At WhistleStop Acres, our goal is to create safe spaces to learn, understand, and walk through the needs, to identify emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that are benefitting or hindering the process of personal growth, acceptance, and thriving. We aim to build support that allows each client to build the knowlege, belief, and skills to maneuver each circumstance with clarity and hope in order to keep going.

These groups will be built according to the following life stage dynamics:

Adult, College and Career Readiness Age, High School grades 9-12, Middle School grades 7-8, Preteen grades 5-6, and elementary will be individual or very small group basis based on need.

  • These groups are divided according to age to support trauma experiences issues that come with social, emotional, and life stage experiences and adjustments and build support connections for both in and out of session

  • These groups are divided according to age to support anxiety issues that come with social, emotional, and life stage experiences and adjustments

  • These groups are divided according to age to support people with high functioning skills on the spectrum, that desire building skills, knowledge, and connections to others like them in order to better manuever the world around them in a connected way

  • These groups are divided according to age appropriate needs to support those with special needs, that are learning to function independently to improve social, emotional, and life stage experiences and adjustments.

  • These groups center on understanding stages of growth, building skills, and learnng to navigate through challenges faced in raising biological, adopted, or speial needs children
